If you write content for websites, this message is for you.
It doesn’t matter if the content you write is for your own website, for clients or for your employer.
I have just launched a new website called WebContentCafe.com.
It’s all about content, and its purpose is to help you write a new page of quality content every day, five days a week.
To that end I will be posting a new content idea or approach each morning. The site also hosts a growing number of articles on content best practices. But the key idea is to help you get into the habit of writing fresh new content, daily.
Why would you want to do that? Because just about every website on the planet prospers or fails according to the quality and quantity of its content.
- Content is key when you want traffic from the search engines.
- The regular addition of content keeps readers engaged.
- Content is central to just about every monetization model used online.
But many of us find it hard to keep adding quality content day after day.
Once we have added all the pages that “need” to be on the site, we then have to come up with new pages which weren’t included on the original wireframe, but which can still add tremendous value.
In fact, in my own experience, it is often the new and “non-essential” content pages that can become the surprise stars of a website.
If you know you need to keep writing new content, but find yourself running short of ideas, the Web Content Café might be just what you need.
It isn’t free. There is a monthly subscription, albeit a modest one.
I decided to charge a fee because I want to put in the time to deliver really great value. And, being a solopreneur, I can’t put in the time if I don’t see a return on the time I spend.
Besides, if you are employed, you can get your company to pay. If you are a freelancer, put it down as a small company expense. If you write your own money-making websites, you don’t need me to tell you that each new page you write can become a new source of long-term income.
